Great game but bad devs.
I'm a huge fan of the Mana series, so when this game came out, I was overjoyed!
"FINALLY! A NEW ADDITION TO THE MANA SERIES! I'M SOOO FREAKIN' EXCITED! I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY IT!! ✦.✦"
...Is what I thought at the time.
Unfortunately, my joy and excitement quickly changed to anger and disgust when they released a competitive event. The event itself wasn't a bad idea, it's the rewards that were the problem. Those who took the top 10 spots at the end of the event were rewarded with weapon skins that would give stats to the characters that equiped it.
The devs were never generous with the gacha currency and they rarely gave us materials to limit break our characters. In other words, to LB our characters, we had to get dupes of our characters from the gacha, but that was pretty difficult to do due to the lack of gacha currency and the story mode quickly became difficult if you couldn't LB your characters. I hate to say this, but Echoes of Mana is a rare example of a P2W game that doesn't have PvP content. 😕
So yeah... To get back to what I was saying, when they released that sh*tty competitive event, I was furious! I went on failbook, on twitter and on discord and I didn't hesitate to give 'em a piece of my mind!
"Don't release these kinds of events! If you do that, you'll lose a LOT of players and this game will shut down in less than a year!"
...Is what I said to them.
Alas, they ignored my warning and some time later, they released another competitive event and then another and another....
Then earlier this year, in febuary, can you guess what happened? Yup! You probably guessed that right! They announced the closure of this game.... I was sad but relieved at the same time!
I thought to myself...
"I knew it! That's what you get for not listening to my warnings, jacka*s! But still, this may be for the best. Now they won't be able to tarnish this great series anymore!"
This game had soooo much potential! The character designs were awesome, the music and story were great and of course, the battles were hard but fun!
But hey, this is what happens when you let some random greedy b*st*rd take charge of a game. Sigh.... 😭😭
