So this is the first game in a while that I can find nothing on outside of a TapTap release in China, I will not bring that up as I am mostly too lazy to, but yeah, I see you is a mobile first.
So let us start the review in the same way that I have been reviewing games for a while now with an analysis of the description. I see you is an RE inspired narrative thriller where you play as a blind man, as such you will have to contend with a very narrow field of vision. It does not really promise any sort of gameplay aside from a memorable experience.
So there is not much to go off in terms of expectations, I have already played the game prior to writing the intro so let us just get into this.
Literally the only section of this review as I cannot think of anything else.
The gameplay is slow, it plays out a lot like a walking sim with puzzle aspects. The slow movement makes the game painful to playthrough when you need to backtrack to other rooms. The crafting system seen in the demo is rather basic, in the demo you wouldn’t need to craft much.
The demo is very short so it is hard to give a proper run down of the gameplay, so we are just going to have to make this review shorter than usual.
Pros:
Puzzles. Fun solve, but pretty engaging,
Atmosphere. The game's atmosphere at the start is great.
Fights. The fights are engaging.
Death screen. Best in gaming
Cons:
Walking speed. The game's walking speed is slow, in the demo you have to constantly go back and forth from the upstairs to downstairs leading to a lot of what feels like time padding.
The demo only showcases a practical walking sim
Bosses. The bosses are just tedious, they mostly feel just like bullet sponges.
(Worse than Division 2 lmfao)
Story. The story is very cliche and easy to predict.
Level design. This house is something out of an SCP article.
Audio design. There is a mechanic where you can hear things, this is only done by visual queue, there is no audio for it aside from a static sound coming from no particular direction.
Crafting. It is just tedious.
Overview.
The demo is one of the shortest demos yet, it does not showcase much gameplay aside from 3 enemies and about five puzzles. It only lasts an hour as the game has an extremely slow walking speed.. If you get stuck on any puzzle and end up pacing between floors it can easily take ten minutes, when the level is actually pretty small. The movement at times feels like it is mostly for padding out time. While the game does win uniqueness, it fails everywhere else. 2 / 5, I do not see myself trying the full game. Wasn't worth a full review.
