Hello from SRG Studios, developers of Champion Shift!
Hi there! I think for this first post, some introductions are in order. We are SRG Studios, a veteran (makes us sound old!) studio with a decade of experience making games and we are very very happy to share with you our latest project: Champion Shift.
On a personal note, my name is George, Studio Director for SRG. This has been a labor of love and a game you can almost say has been a decade in the making. Not literally, but so many of the lessons, hardships and wins have brought us to this moment and this project, and I couldn’t be more excited. I am a huge fan of roguelikes (as are a lot of the members of the team), and seeing our own Champion Shift universe take shape has been incredibly rewarding.
In these past 10 years, we have developed games primarily on mobile, such as Ink Inc, Heroes Inc and Sausage Wars, amassing over 200 million downloads worldwide. As interesting and awesome as that period was, we wanted to sink our teeth on something bigger. Our first game ever was a multiplayer tower defense MOBA, and we knew we wanted to go back to those multiplayer roots. And so, Champion Shift was born.
So what is it? Glad you asked 🙂
Champion Shift is an online co-op action roguelike, where you take control of mythical Champions in their fight against an evil corporation called the Dominion, bent on world conquest and all that evil stuff. At its heart though, it is a unique mix of on-foot hero bullet heaven, and crashing into a ton of enemies by transforming your champion into a powerful vehicle. That idea of taking your Champions and transforming them into cars at the press of a button, was the tipping point in seeing the project as something we really wanted to build.
We are developing it initially as a PC game, but as I mentioned above, our background is on mobile, and we indeed intend to release it on mobile as the project moves further along. We do have a Steam page available where you can download the latest Demo version for free, which is a single player preview of the game. Soon we will be also releasing a Prologue build, which will expand the content and add online co-op functionality, so you can play it solo or together with friends!
