Monster Hunter Now - Go OUT Into The WORLD, And Hunt MONSTERS!

Translate
Monster Hunter Now is currently in soft launch and is available now in these countries: Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Sweden. The game will be available globally on September 14th. But if you cannot wait to play the game right now. You will have to play it with a VPN if you are not in the available soft launch countries.
Surprisingly there is a little bit of a story in this game, from what I could piece together, the monsters are coming through to our world and we the players have been recruited to become monster hunters in order to help take down all the creatures that are running lose in the world. It's an interesting premise and it's a good way to give a reason as to why we are chasing down monsters from the games in the real world. As for the gameplay itself, just like with pokemon go and other games of the sort, you have to actually go outside and find all the monsters.
You can find many different monsters out in the world and some big bosses too. With the big bosses you can even team up with other monster hunter players near you, or take it on alone if you aren't near any other players. I think that's a really cool idea. I like how you can co-op with others to take down the big monster bosses if there's anyone nearby. You can upgrade your gear by finding crafting materials out in the real world. You just have to tap on them when you are near.
But your cat companion will also go off and chase down any materials nearby as well. Which is very convenient. If you allow the game to give you notifications while you're not in game, your game will also notify you when a monster is nearby with the spray paint ability. The combat in the game is pretty simple though. You just have to tap on the screen continuously to attack the monsters, and to dodge you can swipe left, right or towards you.
And to block you just long press on the screen. Blocking still reduces some of your HP though, so be careful. And that's it for the combat. It's not complicated and easy to pick up. But offers very little in challenge. Visually the game looks great though. It definitely follows the Monster Hunter graphics aesthetic and I like it a lot.
The monsters look great, and follow the monster hunter design pretty well. However I only have Monster Hunter World to compare it to, I don't play any of the other variations of the game, but even I can recognize the monsters I came across due to playing Monster Hunter World. I do think the character designs could have been better though. It feels very limited, especially with the face options.
Audio wise the game seems like it's good. I didn't hear any bad sound issues or missing audio and the combat sound effects were present and sounded impactful. Overall I'd say that Monster Hunter Now is a pretty cool variation that was popularized by Pokemon Go. Will it be a big hit though with the gamers in general? Time will tell. But I know for a fact that most gamers don't really want to go out and about to play their games. It might catch on for a while, but the hype will die down. I'm sure it will find it's niche audience, but I am not sure if it will get super popular. It's still fun though, so it could get popular in the end.
I do think it's a pretty fun game, but I'm not going to be going out and about just to play this, that's for sure. Maybe I'd dabble in it when I go out for some other reason, and play it when I get bored, but I don't see myself going out specifically to hunt monsters. So as I said before... Time will tell.
