The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - A BLOODY & VISCERAL Horror Game!

Translate
I recently tried out the new asymmetrical third person multiplayer horror game The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and yeah, for the most part I had fun. There isn't too much of a story in this game, you are given a bit of a narrative at the beginning of the game, and you can play as either the family of killers or the unfortunate victims.
If you play as the victims, you will start off beaten and tortured, and in an all round poor shape, and if you're playing as the family, it's your job to try and kill the victims before they can escape. And that's pretty much it for the story of the game. Gameplay wise you can choose to either play as the family or s the victims, or you can choose to opt in for both and play a quick match. Quick Matches are probably the best option, or at least it felt that way for me, because when I tried to queue to just play as a family member, the overall wait was really long to match up.
In the gameplay you have a choice as either the family or the victims, if you choose the family, I highly recommend using the voice chat or at least text messaging to communicate with the other members to try to pinpoint where the victims could be. You can of course choose not to do that, but since you're all on the same side, it would be beneficial to work together to find your victims.
In one of my matches the other 2 family member players disconnected and never came back to the game so I was left alone to hunt down the victims, which took a very long time and there was a lot of down time trying to find them, which made the intensity of the game die down, and I started to get bored while I was trying to chase down the enemies. It may be that you can't rejoin a game if you disconnect, because I had another match where I did disconnect and there was no option to rejoin the game I was just in. If that's really the case then it's pretty disappointing that you can't do that.
Other family members have different special abilities, for example, leather face has the ability to listen in and try to hear any victims nearby. Though I never found it useful... If you play as the victims, you start the game suffering and bleeding out. You will slowly lose health over time and it pools on the ground as well, and health potions can only delay the bleed out. You can also find other items to help you escape, like lock picking tools to unlock doors, bone scrap and health potions. The main goal of the victim is to escape.
You can do this either on your own or to team up with the other victims you come across. You must also try to be as silent as possible and hide when you can. I found playing the victims to be a lot more fun in a lot of ways because it feels more suspenseful. Sure hunting down your victims can be entertaining, but if you don't have a good team it could involve a lot of downtime trying to hunt the victims down. Visually the game looks stunning.
I love the graphics of the game, especially when you get a day map. The night maps are good too, but it's very dark when playing and it can be really hard to see. There was even one time when I took down a victim, and it was so dark in the basement that I didn't see the kill at all. Just darkness and their screams. I might have to brighten the game a bit in the future, but it kind of removes the atmosphere from the game. I did enjoy the day time maps a lot more, especially the shadows when you would go outside. It all looked very real. The audio was great too, all the sound effects sounded like they belonged and were very visceral.
The screams and death cries were great too, nothing sounded like poor acting and I didn't hear any missing audio either. Overall I'd say that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a pretty fun game, with loads of intense moments, but over time the tense moments will become a bit stale and I found myself laughing more than anything when I was chased by a family member. And if you're a killer the suspense is lacking since you're the one the victims are scared of. I also experienced a lot of stuttering during the kill cam moments, which was very disappointing, It was weird since the game runs so smoothly until an attack happens. Then the game would stutter, and it would get worse during a kill cam moment. I also think it needed more guts and gore. The blood splatter is fantastic, but I would have loved more guts and gore. Other than that I definitely had fun in this game. It's pretty fun.
