Kill The Crows is a top down arena shooter that feels like I was honestly playing a more boring version of Vampire Survivor. The game is basically a dodge, shoot, reload, repeat as non-stop crows charge at you in a variety of forms, including range, melee, explosive, and boss fights if you survive the multiple layers of 100+ waves.

While it may appear and sound good. There is simply so much more to be sought out.

Presentation

Good The pixel art style stands out rather nicely in this game since it's easy to see enemies as they appear from all angles and corners. The music, on the other hand, felt deficient in many ways. It didn't add anything to the game's visual aesthetic, that being a more western-style apocalypse since the main protagonist is a gunslinger fending off humanoid crows. I would have wanted to see a little more musical variety, as listening to the same song over and over again until boss bouts is a little much.

Gameplay

Consists of tasks You have no access to anything at first, but as you progress through the levels with each run, you will gain access to new features. A major issue with this is that you only get three tasks every run, and the game expects you to die in order for them to be refreshed on your next run, this gets extremely tiring.

These unlockable items offer a tiny bit of alteration each run from changing how fast you can reload individually or as a full 8 mag reload giving you no time for quick pot shots. I'm all for games that can be played again and again as long as there's an underlying aim to what needs to be done. Something that recognizes your efforts rather than making you feel like it is just superficial.

The basic gameplay summary of this game is that humanoid crows run towards you. You shoot the crows and try not to get hit. If you get hit you die. If they get hit they die.

From what I've gathered in my 300+ kill attempts, it's simple, uninteresting, and unremarkable as my run was cut short and forced to return to 0 kills with nothing to show for it but a useless weapon and some extra dialog that lead me to nowhere.

Conclusion

It's not something I would recommend The game is only a few dollars on Steam and represents well in the actual gameplay, it just doesn't feel like any effort was made to make it entertaining and fun.

Why are crows being killed and why are they attacking you? What about mutants or plague doctors? For some strange reason, the notion appears to be like the developers are more geared an angered at crows. I just don't get it.

Perhaps it's all in my head, and they chose crows for no reason other than they look good in pixel form. The reality remains, though, that the game itself is uninteresting.

This concludes my views of this game; while my opinions may be met with criticism, that is what distinguishes gamers; you don't have to like the same things as others, nor do you have to agree with them.
