Well to begin I must mention I'm just a casual when it comes to rythm games.
The overall graphics are good, however you are greeted very early on by this profesor that looks like a little girl hahaha she must be a prodigy I guess. I wish she wasn't the very first one you meet, anyways she makes her assistant teach you the ropes.
So let's go directly to gameplay: in the tutorial you see on the left a music sheet like bar then in the middle you see a circle that reminds me of like a guitar and then inside this middle area circles. Then you see this box like shapes outside of the middle. The idea is you scroll the music sheet like bar to make the box like icon match with the circle, so far so good. Then on the right bottom corner you have two buttons green and yellow you have to hit the one matching the box like icon when and only one the align icons are in the circle shape in the middle. So with this setup it's better to play this with both thumbs and it's good. However you seem to only have that moment to hit, unlike other similar games that give you an early trimming or late for less score. The aligning is gimmicky but fun as far as the first tutorial goes.
Because past that the game changes dramatically, remember green and yellow? Well it appears there's a third color Red and to achieve this one you have to hit both yellow and green simultaneously and yeah it's imposible with just your thumb... So your only option is to hit them piono style. (I don't like when they impose you how to play) and based on that I would've said this game is terrible because it's clearly easier to scroll the left side with your thumb. They don't mention this anywhere but apparently if you hit anywhere I mean anywhere on the right side that is not yellow or green button you get the fabled red one (they should've added the red button for thumb players). But we are not out of the woods yet; remember how I said the scrolling was gimmikly but fun? Well that goes away when the song it's harder or faster and because the hit rimming it's so small it's just insanely hard to adjust the thing fast enough and also it seems the developers knew this flaw and instead of you manually scrolling all the way to match the icons if you just scroll minimally either up or down it just matches automatically and that kinda ruins the whole idea to align the things in the first place (also 80% of the time it doesn't do it correctly haha)
When it comes to the story I guess it's similar to rotaeno. To unlock the next part of the story you have to play random songs u till you get a score (hearts in this case) to unlock the next story part. I guess that's to be expected in this kind of game however they leave you with the cliffhanger and when you finally unlock the next segment a week has gone by hahaha or something like that.
Going back to this songs you have to play arcade like the idea is that you first choose a person and then a song. This is kind of good because each person has a different instrument and there was this girl with drums where its fast and they decided to skip the aligning part so you just pretty much have to hit the buttons it was fun. The sad part is that only this girl was like this the other ones you have to scroll in no fun ways at times. Also if you select the assistant in the tutorial ones that are more enjoyable you have to read the dialogue again (no skip).
I conclusión the gimmick is very fun until its not, the graphics are good, the story has gaps time wise and there is room from improvement gameplay wise and the one positive is that you actually play the song with the instrument where in some other rythm games it's just a generic sound you make on top of the song. Then I think this game is for you if you like either the story or the graphics. Or if you are a rythm game god and you have insane reflexes to go through the gimmick.
