SHOULD I PLAY IMMORTAL SURVIVORS?
Play it—especially if you’re a fan of Vampire Survivors. Immortal Survivors is a roguelike “horde game” where I could zone out and experience the satisfaction of inflicting carnage on a massive number of enemies in just under a few minutes. And with the sheer number of upgrades and gear special abilities, not to mention the impressive graphics, it never failed to keep my attention.
TIME PLAYED
I spent around five hours on Immortal Survivors, three of which were in a single sitting. This just goes to show how compelling I found the arena survival gameplay.
WHAT’S AWESOME ABOUT IMMORTAL SURVIVORS?
• Anyone can play it. I love games I can just jump in and play, and Immortal Survivors is on that list. It’s as simple as running around the arena and trying to survive wave after wave of demons. The mechanics are easy to grasp, but when combined with all the special abilities, which range from elemental attacks to character upgrades, it’s enough to keep my attention without becoming boring.
• That beautiful Eastern art. Immortal Survivors looks great! The graphics are fine, but what really got me was the Far East aesthetic and music that added to the in-game atmosphere. The combination of contemporary illustrations mixed with traditional Chinese drawings really makes Immortal Survivors unique.
• Old devices welcome. Immortal Survivors ran pretty smoothly on my Samsung Galaxy A03s, which I was concerned about, given the massive number of enemy combat animations. Although there was some lag when my screen was swarming with foes from all directions, it wasn’t enough to ruin my gaming experience.
• The simple progression. Immortal Survivors is pretty linear when it comes to its level design. I battled through each stage, facing different enemies and a final boss. This might sound boring, but I appreciated it. The bosses were unique enough that each fight felt different, and the enemies were challenging enough that I needed to upgrade between stages and carefully select my abilities to stand a chance of making it to the final boss. One of the best things about this game is that it’s simple to pick up and understand, and this ease of use continues here.
WHAT SUCKS ABOUT IMMORTAL SURVIVORS?
• The translation. Sure, there’s a narrative to Immortal Survivors, but this is probably the last thing that captivated me about the game. But for those who are interested in the story, it reads very awkwardly in English thanks to some funky translation issues. That said, I’ll stand by the fact the characters could’ve been saying anything, and what makes this game appealing would be just as true.

I really appreciate the simplicity of Immortal Survivors, it's super easy to get into but still challenging. And yes, those translation issues are quite funny, doesn't bother me though, the gameplay makes up for it.
