A lot has been said about this game so i won't use any big words to describe something that has already been talked about for the nth time.
Simply put, this game is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest games of all time. Yes, I'm talking about the 2005 edition!
It's so good that if i were to try to articulate every single aspect that stood out to me I'd be out of superlatives to describe it so I'll just stick to the fundamentals.
Story wise: A little cheesy and simplistic, like, sending ONE dude to rescue the PRESIDENT'S daughter and battle a whole civilization sized cult by himself? Equipped with just a 9mm pistol and a first aid spray??
Jokes aside, the game doesn't take itself too seriously and Leon's badassery more than makes up for it.
In terms of gameplay and progression there are very few games that will give you the same sense of satisfaction, as you go along on your adventure you'll gradually face stronger foes whilst getting proportionately equipped to deal with them yourself. The gunplay, the weaponry, the upgrades, the growth and the games locales and scenes are all very well done.
Seamless transition between locations, clear themes between each area and the amazing extra content after completion provides an amazing experience that you won't forget.
The only "gripe" about the game really is it's "tank controls" which I've seen some people mention, which to me is a non issue. All it takes is a little getting used to and you're gold.
10/10 game, aged wonderfully.Also, Ashley is amazing! (LEOOOON HELLLLPPP! :>)
