Game: Artifact Seeker:Prologue Platform: PC Genre: Action Roguelike, Bullet Hell
Overview
Artifact Seeker is an upcoming Action Roguelike that aims to provide a little bit more depth when it comes to building up your characters in terms of their weapons, and their overall stats. This will provide you with the advantage you require in certain aspects, but it will also always take a lot away from you if you are not careful with the path you choose. On top of it all, the massive density of monsters is great!
Graphics & Presentation
I do not place a great deal of importance on the visuals and overall presentation of Action Roguelikes. This is because, in my opinion, these games offer a method to simply turn off your brain and watch the carnage ripple through your mind as it gives you all the rushes of happiness with little to no effort involved on your part.
Strangely enough, I found it extremely challenging to accomplish so in this game because, despite the fact that it gets everything correct, from the loud and girthy sound effects that leave your ears ringing to the vast hoards of creatures and bosses who corner you everywhere you go, all the way up to the colorful flashes of dazzling effects, it is not an easy game to mindlessly slash your way or blast your way through.
It has a lot of elements that you need to pay attention to, such as your build, the items you have, the things that your character benefits from, traps, buffs, powers, and the de-buffs. The fact that you will get a pleasant rush of adrenaline on top of it makes it a little more interesting, despite the fact that it is pretty hectic at times.
Always grateful for a game that has a straightforward user interface and does not clutter the screen. When you pick up a new item, you will always have access to all of the information that you require, and then it will disappear as to not take up space!
Gameplay
There aren't many things that can be said regarding the gameplay. Your primary objective is to make it to the boss arena while attempting to live through a waves of creatures and mini-bosses. In the process, you will be accumulating a collection of weapons and abilities that work in tandem with one another to provide you with a strong build or a weak one if nothing works together. Once you die, you're brought back to your town which you can then spend resources to upgrade and unlock new features.
Conclusion
This game was a lot of fun. Among the many things that I look forward to see in the future are a multitude of various classes, an increase in the number of powers, skills, and effects, and, of course, an increase in the difficulty level, monsters, and locales.
