Ⅰ. Rules for determining the outcome of the battle:
Battle outcomes in COE 2 are typically one of the following: victory, defeat, tie, lose-lose, and no battle. Among them, victory and defeat are mutually exclusive endings, one side wins, the other side will be defeated. No fighting is because the other side has activated peacetime or the destination has been occupied by their own side. The following are specific cases:
1. Wins and losses
The same battle will often appear two battle reports, one side wins and the other side loses, and the game victory criteria are as follows:
1) At the end of the battle, the enemy is completely destroyed and their own side is alive, victory.
2) At the end of the battle, the enemy camp is destroyed and the own main camp is alive, victory.
Defeat is the opposite:
1) At the end of the battle, own troop is completely wiped out and the enemy is alive.
2) At the end of the battle, one's own main camp is wiped out but the other's main camp survives.
When a victory is reported while attacking a resource territory/City garrison, the number of defenders is reduced. When the last defender is defeated and the durability is reduced to 0, the player can capture this resource territory /city. Resource territories and city defenders will refresh over time, please note the corresponding refresh time.
2. Tie
A tie is a relatively common for a battle, when both sides can’t annihilate the enemy's effective forces, there will be a tie, and the general situation is as follows:
At the end of the battle, both main camps were alive and it was a tie.
After a tie, the garrison will remain in its current state until it is challenged again or refreshed.
3. Lose-Lose
Lose-Lose is a rare situation, usually where main camps on both sides are wiped out and troops on both sides are alive.
When there is a lose-lose situation when attacking a resource territory and the defender is the last team, the resource territory will have 0 defenders and will not be occupied, and the player needs to send an extra team to weaken the durability of the resource territory in order to occupy it.
When there is a lose-lose situation in the arena, the challenged team will not disappear and the player who sends a team to challenge will not be killed in action.
Ⅱ. The Introduction of Troop Units
In the game, the soldiers are mainly divided into infantry, archery, cavalry, these three major classifications, but each type of soldier has some certain subdivisions.  Want to play a hero's full strength, then a specific formation needs right heroes and units, the following we'll introduce the classification of the units in detail.
1. Infantry
Infantry is subdivided into: Shielder, Pikeman, and Warrior.
Infantry has the highest siege value and the worst transportation ability of the three types.
The three units can generally be separated from the models and icons.
Shielders, all Shielder icons will basically have a shield symbol on them, and all Shielders are modeled as a warrior holding a shield. Shielders are characterized by higher defense and weaker attack, and play the role of "tank" in most of the infantry teams. Most Shielders have damage reduction skills, and some of them also have the skill of blocking cavalry charge, which allows them to block cavalry charges, such as: Turtle Shell Troops, Blade Shielder, Slave Soldiers, Legion Soldier, Royal Guard, Forest Warriors, Guard, Janissary, and Armored Soldier.
Typical heroes of Shielders include: Epic Hero - Gilgamesh, Naval Commander of Joseon Dynasty - Yi Sun-Sin, Divinely-appointed Monarch - Solomon, etc.
Pikeman, compared to Shielders, Pikeman are more balanced in attack and defense, and the penetration attribute and armor attribute are generally not very different. The model of a pikeman is a warrior holding a lance. Pikeman basically come with the attribute of increased damage to cavalry, all Pikeman basically have a certain restraint on cavalry, a small number of Pikeman also have a certain restraint on infantry, the vast majority of Pikeman also come with the skill of blocking cavalry charge.
There are two special types of Pikeman, Velites and Mercenary Pikeman.
The Velites can project a round of long-range attacks at the start of a battle, while the Mercenary Soldier has an extra bonus to siege value.
Typical heroes of Pikeman are King of Sparta- Leonidas, Mystic Queen - Queen of Sheba, and Marshal of Tang Dynasty - Li Jing, etc.
Warrior. Warriors have the highest Dodge attribute as well as the Attack attribute of the infantry, with the weakest defense. Most warriors are born with the ability to deal increased damage to infantry, while a few warriors have some special skills. Warriors basically come with the passive skill of See Through Stealth. Warriors have sword-shaped symbols in their models and icons.
The Samurai, for example, can project three rounds of long-range attacks at the start of a battle.
The Assassin, who can move invisibly for up to 10 seconds at the start of a battle and deal extra damage on the first round of attacks.
The Berserker, who can project a round of Giant Axe at the start of a battle.
The Mercenary Swordsman, who can provide extra siege value.
Anubis, who can restore a percentage of wounded soldiers who dealt some damage.
Typical heroes of the warrior are: Uncrowned Queen - Margaret I, the Lion Hunter - Assyrian Barnibal, and Daimyo of Sengoku Period - Oda Nobunaga.
2. Archers
Archers have moderate siege and transportation values.
One of the special types of Archers is the Catapult, which has extra siege value. The heroes who have this unit are: Gloriana - Elizabeth I, Sunseeker - Charles V, Queen of Byzantium - Theodora, and Holy City Protector - Godfrey of Bouillon.
In addition, the catapult's attack has a splash property that can damage up to 3 targets at a time.
It is worth noting that all bowmen are equipped with ammo, and if they run out of ammo in each battle, the bowmen will make melee attack like an infantry. And all formations designed specifically for Bowmen basically have an ammo bonus effect, so it's more beneficial to put Bowmen in Bowmen-specific formations.
Bowmen heroes are not as clearly segmented as infantry, and generally bowmen heroes come with both bowmen and crossbowmen, so they can be used according to different formations and needs.
3. Cavalry
Cavalry is subdivided into light cavalry and heavy cavalry.
Cavalry has the highest transportation value and the lowest siege value, so it is not a good idea to use cavalry to attack cities.
Light Cavalry, for newbies, it is hard to tell the difference between Light Cavalry and Heavy Cavalry, and at this stage Light Cavalry is not as good as Heavy Cavalry. The advantage of light cavalry is that the movement speed is fast, basically 2.5, and it is the fastest movement speed in the game. However, most light cavalries are worse than heavy cavalry in attack and defense.
One of the characteristics of light cavalry from the icon is that they do not have armor, and there is no clear distinction between the models in the game.
From the point of view of attack effects, light cavalries basically have their own damage-enhancing skills against archers. If you want to target an infantry and bow formation, then light cavalry is better than heavy cavalry.
Most of the light cavalry have a skill effect that prioritizes the bowman.
The heroes of light cavalry are: Perfect Knight - Saladin, Patriot of Song Dynasty - Yue Fei.
Cavalry Archer is a special type of cavalry, there are not many heroes with cavalry archer in the new server stage, and there are only 4 types of cavalry archer: Mongol Shooter, Cavalry Archer, Camel Shooter, and Chariot.
The icon of cavalry archer is a horse with a bow and arrow icon, and the model is a cavalryman holding a bow and arrow.
Cavalry Archers have relatively high attack and relatively low defense, and they are basically light cavalry.
Except for the chariot, which has a movement speed of 1.2, the rest of the cavalry units have a movement speed of 1.6.
Cavalry have excellent attack logic, with the exception of the Chariot's first charge, which is a melee attack, and the rest of the attacks are dealt on riding. Since all infantry have a movement speed of 0.6, it is difficult for melee infantry to chase down cavalry archer at the end-stage of a battle with their own movement speed.
Cavalry also have ammo, when ammo is used up, Cavalry will switch to melee unit.
Currently, the heroes with cavalry archer are: Saladin, the Paragon Knight; Timur, the Imperial Conqueror; Fan Lihua, the Unusual Heroine of Tang Dynasty; Yue Fei, the Patriot of Song Dynasty; and Ramses II, the Pharaoh of Egypt.
Ramses II is a 3-stars hero, and is the only hero in the game that has infantry, archery, and cavalry archer at the same time.
Heavy cavalry, at this stage, heavy cavalry is far more than light cavalry, heavy cavalry movement speed is slightly less than light cavalry, but also the second highest unit in the game. Heavy cavalry movement speed is 1.7. (Except jungle elephant soldiers) Heavy cavalry’s attack and defense overall are higher than the light cavalry, so cavalry in the civil war, the light cavalry basically is no match of the heavy cavalry.
Heavy Cavalry is distinguished from Light Cavalry by the fact that the horses have armor on them. There is no difference in modeling.
Heavy cavalries basically come with attack effects against infantry, and most of both heavy and light cavalries come with the Charge skill, which means that they penetrate the target and deal 200% damage when charging.
There is a special type of heavy cavalry in the game: Forest Mahout, which is characterized by an additional damage-reducing skill and moves at a speed of 1.3, which is slower than the most of cavalries.
Heavy cavalry is represented by the following heroes: Model Monarch - Louis IX, the King of Kings - Ardashir I, and Juvenile General of Han Dynasty- Huo Qubing.
