After its massive success with Arknights and with huge anticipation revolving around Arknights: Endfield, GRYPHLINE drops another bomb on the mobile gaming community with their first premium mobile game, Ex Astris.

Costing $9.99 on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store, it is a stunningly beautiful turned-based 3D RPG game that honestly deserves a separate console release.

Playing as Yan, an investigator from Earth, you start out the game traveling on a train across a planet called Allindo. An unexpected crash knocks you out of the train leading you to later meet with your new companion, Vi3.

Ex Astris takes your usual turn-based combat and makes it much more interactive with a hybrid combat system. Aside from performing your actions using AP, or Action Points, you must learn to combo your characters’ abilities together to maximize your turn or you will use random moves, ultimately wasting your precious turn.

I have to personally say that this game has so many different ways of playing with hundreds of combos available from numerous movesets unlockable with each character. Just be prepared to read and test A LOT to really find the combo that works best for you and for each situation.

Overall, Ex Astris really showed me what caliber of a game is possible to be played on mobile devices in 2024. It is undeniably one of the best mobile RPG games that I have played so far with ZERO microtransactions, ADs, and all those annoying little things that live-service games have nowadays. With over 20 hours of gameplay available, I say $10 is nothing but a steal for what you get. I am really hoping that they will release a separate console version in the near future with even better graphics and overall production.
