This was my initial review:
Within the small selection of top-down tactical shooters for Android, this is my favourite. It has better graphics and requires more skill than Bullet Echo, and has a much bigger playerbase than War Sector. Controls are fully customizable, and there are different characters with little differences, but sadly, without active skills. The environment can be used for cover, and vehicles can be driven and used as mighty weapons.
On the negative side, there are many ways to spend money, including four (!) different flatrates (battle pass, clan pass, event pass, club membership) upgraded weapons and heroes, as well as upgrade-material, so there are serious pay2win elements.
Another huge downside is the matchmaking, which pairs teams by their average score, and, as i imagine, not counting their weapon strenght. Which usually leads to matchups, where weak and overpowered heroes are mixed, which is incredibly annoying, and often enough, pointless, as there is no way for the average player to win against resilient heroes with high-end roto-guns, sniper-guns that kill you outside your vision, or gas grenades that are dropped by drones and kill you without any chance to escape.
And lastly, there is a lot of advertising.
Concluding, Tacticool is an awesome game with serious flaws.
In the meantime, ive returned to Tacticool, and dived a lot deeper into the game:
A lot of new characters and items have been added to the game, opening interesting abilities and ways to play, and higher ranks enabled new, tactically demanding maps and modes, and beautiful new environments.
Compared to all other isometric tactical shooters i have played, Tacticool has more types of movement, more abilities, deeper hero customization, bigger maps and more playstyles.
And, if that wasnt enough, Tacticool is really generous, even when you have lost, and new content is regulairly added.
Yet, all the content that was released within a short period led to balance issues, and some of the heroes and tools are obviously overpowered. And, sadly enough, the matchmaking is still terrible. I found out, that teams are based on their ranking, no matter the equipment or hero, so you are punished for being good: the higher your skill, the unfairer your matches- thats not acceptable!!!
At this point, Tacticool remains an awesome game, but just for those, that are willing to pay themselves big into the game.
For everybody else, i sadly cannot recommend it.
