The Isla-Guide—Your Daily Routine in Doula Continent: Soul Master Duel
Ever since it began airing back in 2018, I have been absolutely smitten by 斗罗大陆 (Soul Land), the first-ever Chinese animated series that is entirely 3D computer graphics. It has a script that hits the best notes of the fantasy-transmigration genre.
It’s no wonder Soul Land is able to delight the pickiest of a person (like yours truly) who’s a sucker for a brilliant story of that genre.
As soon as BlancoZone Network released Doula Continent: Soul Master Duel (a strategic MMORPG that's set in the Soul Land universe), I was pretty much like a child in a sweet shop and delved right into the game on my smartphone.
Since the game’s official launch in July this year, I have spent a whole lot of time with it. So, here’s a handy guide of all the tips I’ve learned along the way that would be of assistance to get you started on your journey through the world of Soul Land.
Don’t Forget to Claim the Daily Free Items
There are certain interfaces in the game that will offer you useful free items every day. For instance, you will be able to claim a free sausage at specific timings in the ‘Energy Replenishment’ window. When you’re low on energy, these freebies are definitely very handy.
Don’t Skip the Dailies
Daily missions (Dailies) are your bread and butter, so to speak. In the game, these dailies see you complete a series of missions—purchasing energy to undergoing training in the academy—and you will be rewarded with small chunks of EXP and Diamonds. Simple enough.
The thing is, I’d recommend you to complete all the dailies, albeit minuscule rewards. Each time you complete a daily mission, you will receive a degree of activeness. Whenever you have met specific numbers, you’ll be able to obtain better rewards. As powerful as the urge to skip these repetitive daily missions, power is everything in this game.
Shortly after you join a Guild, you’ll be open to Guild facilities and Guild dailies. These dailies will send you to areas within the Guild territory—sometimes to the forge, sometimes to the medicinal herb garden. Just keep an eye out for the Guild boss, where you can team up with your guildmates and eradicate the foul beast. When you turn in the dailies to the respective NPC, you’ll obtain rewards for your troubles. In turn, you can utilise them to redeem items that are beneficial to your team.
Get the Battle Pass Perks
Like many other games, Doula Continent: Soul Master Duel offers a Battle Pass with an affordable price tag of 88 RMB (SGD 17.98), which offers abundant rewards.
With this Battle Pass, you can complete 3 types of missions—daily, weekly, and seasonal—in order to acquire Battle Pass EXP.
Each of the 140 tiers in the Battle Pass requires 50 EXP. Upon reaching each level, you will be able to unlock rewards depending on your Battle Pass type (Standard or Premium Edition).
So, do make time for them, and be sure to complete the daily missions before it resets. At the very least, Battle Pass is an easy place to grind for resources to power up and additional summoning tickets.
