Hot Wheels Infinite Loop Is a Kid-Friendly Racing Game That Adults Can Also Have Fun With

Hot Wheels has been one of those iconic toy brands that have stuck with us through the years. They also have a ton of games for mobile devices, and Hot Wheels Infinite Loop is one of them. It looks good, and the cars really take center stage for this great racing game.

First of all, the game looks great. The setting and the cars are vivid and colourful, as well as very eye catching. The graphics also stand out, though this means that the game might not be friendly towards potato phones. There is also some file bloat as players progress, and that might be a concern for many whose phones are not as well-suited for gaming or players whose phones just don't have much memory space left.The game has the distinction for being the first video game ever published by Mattel, which of course makes Barbie, Thomas and Friends, and Hot Wheels. As expected, it's a battle racer, akin to the likes of Mario Kart. Players race in some very crazy cars, which they can use to crash , bump, and accelerate their way to victory.  And like most racers, it ain't just about how fast your car can run, but also about skill.

It's a battle racer, which means players have to be careful of other players who can run their cars over or knock their car off the track and crashing down below. So yes, even if you have built a really fast car, it's useless if it gets eliminated by some dirty tricks employed by the car it's trying to pass by. And during the race, cars can also drift, do a nitro boost, and even set up traps... much like Mario Kart. 

There's also a customization portion, which is actually half of the game if you think about it. Players can collect some iconic Hot Wheels cars from their toy line, and upgrade them further to suit their playstyle. And as players progress, they can unlock even more cars, and get some super rare ones as well. 

There is also an 8-player PVP, which is very competitive. I tried it out a few times and I have not won a race, even once.

The game does have a few issues, such as lag. This is quite a blow for players in a racing game who experience lag in the middle of a race and then find their car already knocked off the track by a car behind them. And then there's the usual loading issues where loading takes longer than usual.

Aesthetically pleasing, it looks good and quite fun. It is very faithful to the toyline, and would be a must-have for fans. And while it's marketed for kids, older generations can still find themselves enjoying this fast-paced battle racer as well. The collecting and customization portion are also very nicely executed as well. It also has a competitive multiplayer scene.

If you are a Hot Wheels collector, this comes highly recommended. The game is just loads of fun and very pleasing to the eye. And if you have a kid, well, this would be a fun game for them as well.
