Rysen Dawn is a very Realistic Parkour Game... That Has Some Lag And Crashing Problems
Rysen Dawn has been touted by many as the best Parkour game for Android mobile devices. Many have even praised it as a "realistic" depiction of parkour. But is it really all that great? I tried to play the game and find out.
The game follows a parkour practitioner as he tries to attract more followers and views as he showcases his parkour skills. Players try to make their way through a parkour course by making it to some objective points with their parkour skills. The more complex the skills they use to go through these points, the more views and followers they get.
The game itself is pretty simple enough, and it showcases some moves that real parkour practitioners do, including those flips from two storeys up. They might seem unrealistic, but I have watched too many parkour videos on YouTube to say that the moves here are pretty tame.
Controls are pretty to understand in my opinion as well, though I felt that it's not really that suited for a touch screen and better with a controller. The parkour is really what takes center stage for the game. Though players can customize characters, it largely takes a backseat to all the parkour players have to do. Overall, it's pretty straightforward. Oh, and your followers are also commenting on your moves. While there are some supportive ones, there are also those trying to diss you because of course they would, it's the internet.
Unfortunately, as the game progresses, players don't get to upgrade their skill sets. This might make the game a bit boring in the long run.
The game is also quite heavy on the graphics side, so expect it to be too much for older phones to handle. And even with newer phones, it has the tendency to freeze or lag, as well as crash from time to time. I only ever had one crash ever, though I have had a few times my screen froze in the middle of a complicated jump.
The Good:
A very realistic depiction of parkour, with some good and free-flowing movements. The comments section for the streams are also fun sometimes, especially the criticisms.
The Bad:
Lag and Crashes. Lack of character progression and upgrading may lead the game to be boring in the long run.
Final Verdict:
Overall, it's a good game. Definitely not for everyone though, especially those who like action more than just moving around. The game also lags sometimes, and these can get annoying.
