Announced during the Sony State of Play today, Square Enix will be presenting us two mobile games based on the Final Fantasy series in 2021 and 2022.

Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier is going to be a free-to-play battle royale game, which is expected to be released sometime in 2021, on both Android and iOS. It is set in Midgar before the events of FFVII.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis will be "a chapter-structured single-player game covering the whole of the FFVII timeline - including the events of the original game and the FFVII compilation titles", as the official describes it. It will launch in 2022, on Android and iOS, and it is free-to-play as well.
