Nah, Snowbreak developers are just desperate for more money from weak minded men now, so they decided to increase "fan service". Nothing else has changed, their greed didn't drop since day 1. It has some of the worst gacha system among all modern RPGs with horrendous drop rates and "events" containing trash rewards. I would never recommend anyone to play it, not even the whales if they value their credit cards. Nikke devs are not as greedy as them, even though that game has more fan service than Snowbreak. However, if I have to personally recommend, I would suggest others to try this new game named "Ash Echoes" over those two. It's an underrated game with excellent visuals, very unique upgrade mechanics, interesting skill system and two different genres mixed into one (Team Based + Defense RPG) Even though it's developed by Tencent, they are being nice enough to let new users select their favourite character from almost all 6 🌟 characters in the game, and also another 6 🌟 random from completing new user missions. And this is a level of justice Nikke or Snowbreak would never do for their new user community ~ And don't worry if you have a low or mid spec device, Ash Echoes require GPU over CPU to run smoothly ~
